Job summary

JE Dunn Construction seeks a Field Engineer – Core within our Advanced Facilities Group. You’ll actively participate in safety planning, work with crews to perform on-site tasks, and learn company standards for building methods on large industrial projects.

You will develop skills in Lean processes, crane flagging, and layout work while collaborating with foremen, journeymen and subcontractors. This role supports project teams on data center, manufacturing, and semiconductor sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
• Federally required training or apprenticeship depending on location preferred.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0–2 years construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in all aspects of the project‑specific safety plan and culture.
• Learns and participates in the company’s safety culture through action and mentoring others.
• Works with tools and executes self‑perform work embedded with a crew to complete tasks.
• Gains knowledge of company standards and building techniques through hands‑on training.
• Builds relationships and communicates with tradespeople and project team members.
• Understands cross‑functional roles and contributes to project success.
• Learns equipment use for building processes and applies Lean practices daily.
• Collaborates with others and demonstrates teamwork.
• Participates in weekly work plan and site meetings as needed.
