Job summary

HNTB is seeking a current/former intern to support construction inspection and documentation on active projects in Florida. You will work with experienced staff to monitor field work, verify conformance with plans, and review contractor reports.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and ability to read drawings. The role involves site visits, basic CPM schedule review, and collaboration with the resident engineer to resolve issues and ensure client compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Familiar with inspection checklists and field quality controls.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and identify discrepancies.
• Basic understanding of CPM schedules and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction field work tasks and activities to ensure conformance to plans and specifications; coordinates quality control inspections.
• Observes on-site material testing; reviews daily reports for accuracy and progress; prepares progress reports.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications; identifies discrepancies or conflicts in documents.
• Reviews contractor daily reports and as-built mark-ups; tracks project progress with photos and video.
• Collaborates with the Resident Engineer; assists in solving issues and communicates progress.
• Performs office engineering tasks: agendas, minutes, RFIs, submittals, pay estimates; maintains logs.
