Job summary

RK&K is seeking a self-motivated graduate for the Field Engineer I role in our Virginia Beach, VA office, supporting civil construction projects related to aviation, highways, roads, bridges, and related facilities. This entry-level position emphasizes coordination, inspection, and on-site logging while collaborating with internal teams and clients.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering or related degree with zero to two years of experience, internship exposure in construction management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related engineering field
• Zero to two years of experience in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Previous internship experience in construction management or civil engineering
• Practical application of engineering procedures in roadway design/construction, schedules, claims avoidance, claims mitigation, cost estimating and reporting
• Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks
• Proficiency in communicating technical information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordination of a variety construction projects where the principals and methods of engineering apply to consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, design of public or private utilities, structures, machines, equipment, processes, transportation systems and work systems.
