Job summary

RK&K is seeking a self-motivated graduate for the Field Engineer I role in our Richmond, VA office. You will support civil construction projects across aviation, highway, roadway, bridge and related facilities, coordinating tasks and communicating with clients.

Essential functions include project coordination, logging field activities, and running point on inspections. A civil engineering degree and internship experience are preferred, with an EIT license a plus and the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• 0–2 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management.
• Prior internship experience in construction management or civil engineering preferred.
• Proficiency applying engineering procedures to roadway design/construction and cost reporting.

• Coordinate construction projects where engineering methods apply to planning and design.
• Communicate with internal teams and external clients clearly.
• Log activities accurately on the job site.
• Lead inspections of facilities and infrastructure.

• Coordination of a variety ofconstructionprojects where the principals and methods ofengineeringapply to consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, designof public or private utilities, structures, machines, equipment, processes,transportationsystems and work systems.
• Communication with internal team and external clients
• Accurate logging of activities on work site
• Running point on inspections of facilities and infrastructure

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related engineering field
• Zero to two years of experience inCivil EngineeringorConstruction Management
• Previous internship experience inconstruction managementorcivil engineering
• Practical application ofengineeringprocedures in roadwaydesign/construction, schedules, claims avoidance, claims mitigation, cost estimating and reporting
• Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks
• Proficiency in communicating technical information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• EIT license or the ability to obtain within 6 months
