Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Field Engineer for our South Central District, focusing on heavy civil infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, and utilities. You will engage in field engineering, office support, and estimating activities across multiple project phases in a dynamic team environment.

The role emphasizes interpretation of drawings, takeoffs, scheduling, and cost management, with relocation to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field or engineering; 2+ years field experience, or 6+ years with no BS degree.
• Experience with scheduling, CPM, material controls, estimating, subcontracts, change orders and documentation control.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with paving, grading, cut and fill, excavation, anchor bolts and concrete forming.
• Willing to travel to projects and relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed work.
• Assist in preparation of work plans and packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevations and control points.
• Assist in daily labor timesheet processing and JHA preparation.
• Participate in safety reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate work groups.
• Supervise field operations and provide field support to subcontractors.
