Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Field Engineer for our South Central District, supporting heavy civil construction projects from field and office engineering perspectives. You will interpret drawings, perform takeoffs, prepare work plans, and assist in cost tracking and procurement while coordinating with multiple trades on site.

The role emphasizes safety, communication, and teamwork, with opportunities to travel and relocate to project sites across the region as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or engineering, with 2+ years field experience; or 6+ years if no BS.
• Knowledge of scheduling, critical path method (CPM), material controls, estimating, subcontracts, change orders, and document control.
• Strong verbal and written communication, planning and organizational skills, and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and basic engineering calculations.
• Prepare work plans, surveys, and cost data; support submittals and purchasing.
• Support estimating with historical data, bid prep, and risk assessment.
