Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Field Engineer for our South Central District in the Transportation market. You will contribute to planning, organizing and implementing project engineering and controls across heavy civil programs—highways, bridges, rail, aviation, water, and power.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and meticulous attention to detail on site preparation, earthwork, drainage, paving, and utility work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in construction/engineering.
• At least 2 years hands-on construction field experience (Internships excluded).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Familiarity with heavy civil infrastructure activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specs for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements to determine material progress.
• Assist in preparing work plans, packages, and JHA safety checks.
• Support field surveying, data collection, and as-built data compilation.
• Coordinate material deliveries and schedule work groups on site.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
• Assist in cost reporting and change order generation.
