Job summary

FloVision is seeking a Field Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and improve our hardware systems powering computer vision products. The role involves heavy field work at customer sites, with about 75% travel and occasional international trips.

The ideal candidate has a 4+ year background in automation/field engineering, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and experience with PLC/HMI programming and SolidWorks. Remote-work readiness is essential in our US-based startup environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of experience in automation, controls, field engineering, or a related industrial environment.
Hands-on mechanical and electrical skills to install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment using common tools.
Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software and ability to create and read drawings, BOMs, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify field issues, design practical fixes, and implement with limited oversight.
Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn AI-enabled tools.
Excellent communication to represent FloVision professionally with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Travel to domestic and international customer sites to scope, install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
Perform on-site mechanical/electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding independently or with remote teams.
Build customer relationships and represent FloVision with professionalism and judgment.
Turn recurring field problems into practical hardware improvements and contribute to product design and R&D.
Create and modify mechanical and full-system designs using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
Develop and maintain technical documentation including site findings, service records, BOMs, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and fabricators for installations and repairs, including sourcing and inventory as needed.
Identify internal process improvements and leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency across design and documentation.
