Job summary

FloVision is seeking a Field Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and improve hardware powering our computer vision products. You will travel to customer sites, lead field installations, and contribute to R&D at our Chicago workshop.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 4+ years in automation, PLC/HMI expertise, and SolidWorks CAD skills. Occasional international travel and a hands-on, self-driven approach are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
At least four years of experience in automation, controls, or a related industrial environment.
Hands-on mechanical and electrical skills with common tools.
Experience programming/troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and creating/evaluating drawings, BOMs, schematics.

Responsibilities

Travel to domestic and international customer sites to scope, install, and service equipment.
Perform on-site maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding, independently or with remote teams.
Build strong customer relationships and ensure work aligns with customer needs and procedures.
Lead design improvements and document findings for CAD drawings and BOMs.
Maintain safety procedures and quality standards in field and workshop.
