Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support field and office operations on diverse construction projects across the United States. You will assist with drawings, takeoffs, surveys, scheduling, and safety processes under the guidance of senior engineers.

This is a hands-on role that blends fieldwork with engineering support. Ideal candidates hold a construction-related degree, are eager to learn, travel as needed, and contribute to safe, efficient project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a construction-related field of engineering.
• Willing to travel and relocate to project locations as required.
• Internship experience preferred and helpful for early-career engineers.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and teamwork on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining completed work percentage.
• Assist in preparation of work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation and control points.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA preparation.
• Assist in providing solutions related to tunneling and construction operations.
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate work groups on site.
• Supervise field operations and assist in cost and change order review.
