Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Field Engineer to provide on-site construction observation and coordination support on data center projects in Austin, TX, with travel to other project locations as needed. You will act as the owner's representative on-site, track RFIs, submittals, and drawings, and ensure adherence to contract documents, safety protocols, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• 2 years minimum field experience; 4 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site presence to represent the owner’s interest during construction.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders; document meeting notes.
• Write daily reports on construction status, delays, and inspections.
• Review contract documents and obtain information from design engineers as needed.
• Issue and track project deficiency reports; provide constructability feedback.
• Coordinate with architect and design engineer on coordination issues; document events.
• Track drawings and ensure revisions are current.
• Monitor RFIs and submittals; communicate critical path items to field and design team.
• Help address construction issues to keep work on schedule.
• Assist client and design team with observation and closeout documentation.
• Support building code compliance and site safety protocols.
• Prepare and present reports and progress summaries to senior management and clients.
