Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Field Engineer to lead on-site activities, ensuring projects meet engineering standards, codes, and contract specifications. You will work with project crews, review drawings, and control quantities and costs to keep delivery on schedule and within budget.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of construction engineering experience, with the ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with multiple stakeholders on site in Atlanta,

Qualifications

• 1+ year of construction engineering experience preferred.
• Construction engineering experience or knowledge required.
• Beginner knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment and resources are available to keep production on schedule and within budget.
• Collects, coordinates and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data to ensure quality and compliance.
• Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling, identifying risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections to track project performance and documents activities.
• Remits accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding and coordinates with finance for time, materials, equipment and subcontractor needs.
• Reviews and approves daily timecards; collaborates with Office Manager, payroll and supervisors to resolve inquiries.
• Reviews project specifications for QA at start, during, and after work; manages certificates, inspections and documentation.
• Plans field layout with crews, ensures utility and commercial lines are marked and permits are obtained.
• Assists in development of design drawings and provides technical input as needed.
• Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
