Job summary

APSI Construction Management seeks a Field Engineer/Construction Inspector for the FCI Leavenworth Prison project in Leavenworth, KS. You will join an Owner's agent team to inspect contractor work, ensure BOP standards, and support activation and closeout activities starting October 2026.

This is a full-time role lasting 1 to 1.5 years. Responsibilities include daily site inspections, coordination with stakeholders, reporting, and oversight of changes, schedules, and QA/QC processes to maintain

Qualifications

• High school diploma and minimum 5 years in construction contract administration and inspection.
• 30-hour OSHA safety training (card) prior to start.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to create/edit Word and Excel; proficient with PDFs (Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam).
• Experience reviewing change orders, pay applications, schedules and related docs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organized and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent relationships with BOP client representatives, contractors and stakeholders.
• Provide daily site inspections to verify functionality of operational systems and coordinate warranty work.
• Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers, and regulators.
• Prepare daily progress reports and track contractor schedule progress.
• Review and advise on accuracy/legitimacy of contractor change orders.
• Coordinate 3rd-party testing and inspections; maintain project records and photos.
