Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent and act as a liaison between Subcontractors and Project Engineers on projects in Central, FL. The role focuses on work plan development, field coordination, and ensuring schedule, quality, and safety.

You will assist with RFIs, submittals, and field documentation, including logs, as-builts, and daily reports, while maintaining equipment and inventory and supporting QA/QC processes on site.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 0–4 years of construction-related experience.
• Strong communication and coordination with project teams.
• Competent Person certifications (Trenching, Scaffolding, Rigging, Confined Space, Fall Protection, OSHA 10-Hour, First Aid & CPR) preferred.
• Knowledge of surveying fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Support Superintendent and coordinate with subcontractors and project engineers.
• Assist with work plan development and field operations to meet schedule and quality.
• Attend meetings and manage RFIs and submittals.
• Maintain logs, as-builts, and field files.
• Prepare equipment maintenance logs and daily progress photos.
• Schedule inspections and coordinate with building departments.
