Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division serving the Brevard & Indian River County, FL area.

The successful candidate will perform field tasks assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman, supporting layout, documentation, and coordination of field activities. Responsibilities include assisting with structure layout, procurement, planning, logs, RFIs, shop drawings, and O&M material, while maintaining progress and ensuring

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout
• Field purchase orders
• Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.

Requirements

• Surveying/layout, technical writing
• 1-2 years of experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
