Job summary

Flytrex Inc. in Aubrey, TX is seeking an Autonomous Flight Systems Field Engineer. This hands-on role blends field flight operations with lab engineering to configure, test, and troubleshoot autonomous flight systems as part of Flytrex's end-to-end drone delivery platform.

You will perform hardware-in-the-loop testing, calibrate sensors, plan missions with Mission Planner, and ensure CFR 14 Part 107 compliance. Travel is local; citizenship in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and/or flight controllers.
• Proficiency with Mission Planner for planning and telemetry review.
• UAS systems integration and hardware testing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate in field and lab.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and validate flight controllers and hardware.
• Operate flight control software for mission planning and data analysis.
• Perform systems integration including sensor calibration and payload integration.
• Execute R&D functions and flight testing per procedures and checklists.
• Maintain aircraft readiness and essential equipment.
• Document daily flight activities and test reports with precision.
• Deconflict ground and air risks under CFR 14 Part 107.
• Apply root-cause analysis to anomalies and failures.
• Assist with design and improvement of procedures.
• Perform collateral duties as required.
