Job summary

Flytrex Inc. is seeking an Autonomous Flight Systems Field Engineer to support research, development, and operational testing of our end‑to‑end drone delivery system.

This on-site role combines field flight operations with lab engineering, configuring and validating autonomous flight systems at the Irving facility. The ideal candidate has CFR 14 Part 107 expertise, hands-on ArduPilot experience, Mission Planner proficiency, and strong problem-solving, documentation, and safety-mindedness.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Hands-on experience with ArduPilot or similar flight controllers; configure, tune, and troubleshoot.
• Proficiency with Mission Planner or equivalent for mission planning and telemetry review.
• Experience with UAS integration, sensor calibration, and structured test execution.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; capable of producing technical docs and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and validate Flytrex flight controllers and hardware.
• Operate flight control software for mission planning, telemetry review, and post-flight analysis.
• Perform HIL testing, sensor calibration, and payload integration.
• Execute R&D and flight testing following strict procedures and checklists.
• Maintain aircraft and ensure readiness of flight systems and equipment.
• Document flight activities, logs, and test reports with engineering precision.
• Ensure CFR 14 Part 107 compliance and manage flight risk assessments.
• Perform root-cause analysis on flight anomalies and hardware/software faults.
• Assist with evolving operational/testing procedures.
• Travel locally to the Irving, TX facility for on-site work.
