Job summary

Flytrex Inc. in Lewisville, Texas, seeks an Autonomous Flight Systems Field Engineer. This hands-on role blends field flight operations with lab engineering to configure, test, and troubleshoot autonomous flight systems at the Flytrex Flight Test Facility.

You’ll work with CFR 14 Part 107 compliance, ArduPilot-based controllers, Mission Planner, and integrate sensors and payloads with HIL testing. Local travel applies; on-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and/or similar flight controllers.
• Proficiency with Mission Planner for mission planning and telemetry review.
• Experience with UAS systems integration, sensor calibration, and hardware testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to diagnose complex faults.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to document tests and results.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Valid Driver’s License; may require background check.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and validate flight controllers and supporting hardware.
• Operate flight control software for mission planning and data analysis.
• Perform systems integration and testing including HIL/SIL testing.
• Conduct R&D and flight testing following strict procedures.
• Maintain aircraft readiness and perform routine maintenance.
• Document flight activities, logs, and test reports with precision.
• Manage safety and CFR 14 Part 107 compliance.
• Contribute to design and improvement of procedures.
• Travel locally as required.
