Job summary

Gunnebo Entrance Control North America is seeking a full-time Service Engineer to support the Chicago area. You will service and install turnstiles and security systems, provide technical support to customers and sales, and ensure high first-time-fix rates with strong communication.

You will collaborate with partners, document work, travel to client sites across the US, and stay current with product knowledge and safety practices to deliver excellent service experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience working independently as a service/installation technician.
• Demonstrable experience with turnstiles and electrical installs.
• Ability to work with contractors and end-users to provide product and installation support.
• Knowledge of low and high voltage circuitry.
• Knowledge of electronic security systems / access control systems.
• Knowledge and practical experience with networking.
• Able to read electrical wiring diagrams.
• Good mechanical knowledge.
• Willingness to train on varying new products.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and use initiative.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Sales Engineering support for new opportunities throughout the Sales life cycle.
• Provide remote technical support to partners and customers, including installation and preventative service.
• Maintain high standards of customer relations and professional communication.
• Aim for high first-time-fix rate and minimize repeat calls.
• Support service team and other engineers to ensure effective delivery of service.
• Follow customer procedures to ensure efficient job closure.
• Document work and update ERP systems on time.
• Stay current on technology and practices relevant to the business and customers.
• Travel to other sites in the US.
