Job summary

Onebrief seeks Forward Deployed Engineers to deploy directly with military operators, translate complex mission friction into executable software, and deliver integrated solutions in restricted environments.

You will collaborate with Product and Core Engineering to generalize local fixes, connect core systems with DoD data structures, and protect development teams with robust failure analysis in dynamic field conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive software engineering, solutions engineering, or field software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, TypeScript, Go and hands-on with REST/gRPC APIs, relational databases, data modeling, JSON/XML schemas, microservices, and cloud/edge infra.
• Ability to parse logs, diagnose failures, and isolate root causes; experience in restricted/air-gapped environments is valuable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own mission outcomes by embedding with operators to translate friction into executable software solutions.
• Bridge field execution with product strategy to turn fixes into reusable platform capabilities.
• Integrate core and simulation systems with partner C2 systems and military data structures.
