Job summary

Aslan is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with our customers and write production code that makes our platform solve their critical operational problems. You will sit alongside intelligence analysts, targeting officers, and federal agents, learning their mission and building tailored integrations and configurations that render the platform indispensable in real time.

You will operate in the field as the product team, creating custom workflows and patterns, while feeding insights back

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering with production code experience under pressure.
• Versatile, can handle backend services, data pipelines, configurations, or UI needs.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML systems to reason about agent behavior and fixes.
• Ability to learn new domains by sitting with operators and building software that fits their reality.
• Self-directed and able to act as the embedded engineering lead on site.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites regularly and stay extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customers and write production code that makes Aslan's platform solve their specific operational problem.
• Learn the customer's mission, targets, and workflows deeply enough to build the right thing.
• Build custom integrations, mission-specific configurations, and operator-facing workflows.
• Debug agent behavior in live environments and fix it with code, not escalation.
• Identify deployment patterns and share insights with the core team to shape future builds.
• Iterate in days, not quarters, since problems are live and operators can't wait.
