Job summary

PowerSecure in Austin, TX is seeking a field engineering leader to provide technical oversight for commissioning and field engineering of distributed infrastructure systems. You will serve as the liaison between clients, PowerSecure engineering, service, and operations to ensure accurate vetting and successful deployments.

The role requires 6+ years' experience with generators, ATS, switchgear, PLCs and protective relays, plus travel up to 75–95%.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years experience on generators, ATS, or switchgear.
• PLC, generator controller and protective relay experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel 75-95%.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• NFPA 70 Arc Flash certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced understanding of AC/DC Electrical Theory.

Responsibilities

• Document onsite changes to drawings and settings files.
• Program and edit PLCs, generator controllers, and protective relays.
• Demonstrate knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, and phase configurations.
• Follow project scopes to prevent scope creep.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and customers via phone/email.
• Assist in engineering change notices.
• Coordinate with management and engineering to maintain scope and schedule.
