Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking an Electrical Systems Commissioning Technician to oversee commissioning and field engineering for distributed infrastructures systems, including microgrid and BESS projects. You will bridge client expectations with PowerSecure engineering, service, and operations to ensure safe, high-quality field vetting.

The role requires 6+ years in industrial environments with generators, ATS, and switchgear, PLC/controller experience, and travel up to 75–95%.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years of commercial/industrial experience with generators, ATS and switchgear.
• PLC, generator controller and protective relay experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Willing to travel overnight up to 75–95%.
• NFPA 70 Arc Flash certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Outlook email/calendars.
• Advanced understanding of AC/DC Electrical Theory.

Responsibilities

• Document onsite changes to As-Shipped Drawings and Settings Files.
• Program and edit PLCs, generator controllers, and protective relays.
• Manage power distribution system knowledge, switchgear and critical applications.
• Follow project scopes to prevent scope creep and develop schedules.
• Communicate clearly with project teams via phone, email, and in person.
