Job summary

Oxy is seeking an Operations Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support field electrical infrastructure in Midland, Texas. You will assist in design, testing, and commissioning of power-distribution equipment across plant and field operations, ensuring safe operation and reliability.

This field-based role involves travel, collaboration with operations and maintenance teams, and participation in root-cause analyses to improve performance. A company car is provided for field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Field experience in oil and gas, power-generation, or process facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support for power-distribution equipment and LV/MV systems.
• Assist with design and execution of projects including load-flow, short-circuit, relay-coordination, arc-flash studies.
• Review protective-relay settings for SEL and Multilin relays.
• Assist with relay-testing activities using Doble equipment.
• Develop field-ready switching procedures for safe load-transfer under procedures.
• Participate in root-cause analyses of electrical failures to improve reliability.
