Job summary

Shermco is hiring a Field Electrical Engineer to join our team in the United States. The role focuses on NETA testing, commissioning, and field service at data centers and industrial sites.

The candidate will travel to customer sites, interpret diagrams and relay schematics, develop test plans, apply settings, and verify that equipment meets specifications. Strong problem-solving skills, safety focus, and clear English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required or preferred.
• FE or EIT certification desirable.
• Must be comfortable safely working near high-voltage transmission lines.
• Must be able to work independently in field environments.
• Willingness to be hands-on at industrial/commercial sites (not office).
• Strong communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Must pass background check and remain drug-free.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk long periods.

Responsibilities

• Drive to customer sites in company vehicle across the state, including remote locations.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and relaying schematics to understand project scope.
• Develop isolation plans before work begins and test plans for relaying projects.
• Apply settings and perform functional tests on microprocessor relays and circuitry.
• Ensure electrical equipment meets project specifications and install properly.
• Create livening procedures for placing new equipment into service.
• Conduct end-to-end relay testing for carrier/fiber systems.
• Perform primary current injection testing to verify connections.
• May perform basic power system studies (short circuit, arc-flash, coordination).
