Job summary

Shermco is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer in Texas to perform NETA testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting in data centers and industrial sites. You will drive to customer jobsites in a company-provided vehicle and work with customers to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical equipment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET), FE/EIT preferred, strong computer skills, and the ability to work in high-voltage environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; internship in related industry a plus.
• FE or EIT certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive to customer jobsites in a company provided vehicle across the state, some remote locations.
• Review wiring diagrams and relaying schematics to understand project scope.
• Understand customer needs and requirements.
• Determine an isolation plan to take protective schemes out of service prior to work.
• Develop a test plan for relaying projects using customer prints and docs.
• Apply settings and perform functional tests on microprocessor relays and circuitry.
• Ensure delivered equipment meets project specs.
• Develop livening procedures for new equipment in service.
• Perform end-to-end relay testing for carrier and fiber systems.
• Perform primary current injection testing to verify secondary connections.
• May perform simple power system studies including short circuit, arc-flash and protection coordination.
