Job summary

QXO is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager – Field Operations to lead safety programs across 60-70 sites in the Chicagoland region. This role requires extensive field presence and travel to coach leaders, assess sites, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will drive proactive safety culture, manage incident investigations, and partner with operations leaders to reduce risk while supporting business objectives. Travel up to 60–75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3 years of progressive EHS experience supporting construction, framing, building products, manufacturing, industrial, or field service operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926) and regulatory requirements.
• Experience conducting field audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments in active construction environments.
• Ability to influence frontline employees, supervisors, and senior leaders.
• Excellent communication, training, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the regional EHS leader supporting field operations across multiple sites.
• Travel regularly to jobsite visits, safety assessments, audits, and leadership coaching.
• Ensure consistent EHS policy and standard implementation across field operations.
• Build relationships with field leaders to drive ownership of safety performance.
• Advise on risk management, regulatory compliance, and safety best practices.
• Lead safety culture initiatives and deliver training and toolbox talks.
• Support onboarding and safety meetings, and assist with corrective actions.
