Job summary

Osceola County seeks a skilled construction inspector to perform routine and complex field assignments focused on inspecting public and private development in compliance with County, State, and Federal codes.

You will review right‑of‑way permits, inspect utilities and road projects, maintain inspection records, and provide timely information to developers, engineers, and the public. A valid Florida driver’s license and MOT certification within six months are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of civil construction, construction inspection, and/or land surveying experience.
• Must obtain MOT certification within six months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of public and private construction to ensure compliance with County, State and Federal codes.
• Assist Development Review staff with review, comments, and approval of right of way permits.
• Inspect construction on private property, in public right of way, and within public easements.
• Maintain inspection records and complete related reports; collect closeout documents for permit finalization.
• Attend preconstruction meetings to explain inspection standards to architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and developers.
