Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in civil construction, construction inspection, and/or land surveying.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must obtain Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification within six months of employment.
• Municipal or government experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of FDOT specifications and related regulations (MUTCD) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of public and private construction to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Assists Development Review staff with review, comments, and approval of right of way permits.
• Inspects construction on private property, in the public right of way, and within public easements.
• Inspects all phases of development and utility installation such as roadways, sidewalks, and other improvements.
• Maintains records of inspection activity and completes related reports.
• Receives, responds, and documents public inquiries and complaints.
