Job summary

Collier County Field Inspector II is responsible for inspecting capital road and bridge projects to ensure compliance with plans, codes and specifications. The role reports to the CEI section within the Transportation Engineering Division and involves evaluating field work and documenting findings.

The position requires five years of related experience, a valid Florida driver's license, and fingerprinting. The incumbent will coordinate inspections with engineers, contractors, and property owners

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five (5) years of related experience.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field inspections of capital improvement construction projects to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and approved plans/specifications.
• Reviews construction plans, specifications, right‑of‑way permits, and related documentation for compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Coordinates inspection activities with County divisions, consulting engineers, contractors, property owners, and other stakeholders; schedules inspections and meetings.
• Maintains logs, inspection reports, and records; enters inspection data and posts notices of non‑compliance as needed.
• Inspects infrastructure projects for proper drainage, lighting, traffic control, and MOT compliance; documents field conditions with photos.
