Job summary

Dataminr is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to deploy and operationalize First Alert inside customer environments, including sensitive U.S. defense and national security missions. You design data pipelines, ontologies, and operator-facing apps, integrating Dataminr's real‑time intelligence with customer data.

You own the solution end to end, work across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Travel to customer sites 50–75% is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry expertise: pipelines, ontology, modules, app development.
• Strong programming skills: Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash, or Go.
• Comfort with containers, orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift), Linux, and on-prem infrastructure.
• Active U.S. security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
• Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Design data pipelines, ontologies, and applications that combine Dataminr's real‑time intelligence with the customer's data.
• Own solutions end to end, from first sketch to finished system for operators.
• Debug across the full stack: infrastructure, networking, and applications, in cloud or on‑prem environments.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer engineers and operators; channel feedback to product.
• Travel to customer sites and operations centers as needed (50–75%).
• Collaborate with defense/security customers to scope and deploy First Alert in their environments.
