Job summary

Saronic Technologies Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Mechanical Engineer to bring our autonomous maritime systems from lab to fleet.

You will lead mechanical integration on ASVs, prototype rapidly for field tests, and perform dockside trials with cross-functional teams to validate deployments. You will work hands-on in lab, fabrication spaces, and waterfront environments, applying CAD, FEA, and thermal management to rugged marine platforms while coordinating with suppliers and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years in integrated mech/electromech systems, fielded environments.
• Hands-on assembly, fabrication, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience with FEA and structural mounts for marine systems.
• CAD experience in SolidWorks or NX; Linux familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical integration for ASVs and maritime platforms.
• Lead rapid prototyping for field experiments.
• Mechanical bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting of subsystems.
• Dockside and sea trials; install hardware and validate.
• Design for assembly/deployment; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Interface with suppliers and fabrication shops.
• Contribute to documentation and training.
