Saronic Technologies Inc. seeks a Forward Deployed Electrical Engineer to bring lab tech to the fleet. You will deploy systems, integrate payloads, debug field-level issues, and iteratively improve hardware in real-world maritime environments.

The role blends lab work with dockside and waterfront activities, requiring hands-on electrical design, prototyping, and close collaboration with Mechanical, Software, and Autonomy teams. CADENCE: on-site in San Diego.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience working on integrated electrical/electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on expertise in electrical integration (power systems, cabling, connectors, PCB bring-up)
• Hands-on expertise in rapid prototyping and system-level debugging
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems
• Experience with serial (RS232, RS485) and CANbus
• Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and distributed systems
• Willingness to work in dynamic, hands-on environments near water
• Knowledge of autonomous systems, drones, or robotic platforms is a plus

Mansioni

• Design systems to support electrical integration of novel systems and payloads onto ASVs and maritime platforms
• Lead rapid prototyping efforts (electrical) to support field experimentation and platform evolution
• Perform system bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting of power, networking, sensor, and compute subsystems
• Own dockside and sea trials — prepare vessels, install new electrical hardware packages, and validate systems in real environments
• Drive design-for-assembly and design-for-deployment feedback into electrical product development
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Autonomy Engineers to evolve and harden designs
• Interface with suppliers and fabrication shops for fast turnaround of components and harnesses
• Contribute to documentation and training to scale deployment and manufacturing
