Saronic Technologies seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer to deploy and refine autonomous systems on real-world maritime missions. You will work on software, networking, and autonomy, ensuring reliable performance of autonomous service vessels in operational settings.

The role blends field deployment, debugging, and optimization of autonomy algorithms, sensor fusion, and control logic, collaborating with end-users to tailor technology to mission needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building autonomy or robotics software.
• Proficient in C++, Rust, Python or similar for performance-critical systems.
• Background in robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems (maritime/defense).
• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, UDP, DDS, messaging frameworks like ROS/ZeroMQ.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of autonomy, networking, and mission execution software for maritime environments.
• Drive field testing and deployment strategies validating autonomy, perception, and control under operational conditions.
• Analyze mission-critical data to drive software improvements for reliability and responsiveness.
• Architect integration of new autonomy capabilities across software, sensors, and vessel hardware.
