Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Construction Technician to join the Customer Engineering team in a residence-based role with 75% travel across the southern United States. The ideal candidate will be based in North Carolina or Northern South Carolina and will install and service cryogenic and gaseous storage systems at customer sites while maintaining stringent safety standards.

You will read technical drawings, coordinate crane activities, and supervise contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Trade/technical degree or apprenticeship preferred but not required.
• Military service considered in lieu of a trade/technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping.
• Maintain extremely high safety standards at customer sites and when driving company vehicles.
• Read engineering drawings, flow sheets, and electrical controls schematics; provide safe rigging and lifting procedures.
• Supervise crane contractors and serve as Lift Supervisor for equipment lifts up to 600 Standard Tons.
• Report costs for materials and labor accurately; understand product properties and hazards.
