Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Construction Technician to join our Customer Engineering team. This residence-based role requires 75% travel throughout the southern United States, with a base ideal in North Carolina or Northern South Carolina.

You will install and service cryogenic and gaseous storage systems, read technical drawings, and ensure high safety standards. Strong driving, crane coordination, and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pass a service/pickup truck road test and DOT physical.
• Proficient with hand tools and mechanical/electrical repair.
• Ability to read technical drawings and read layouts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and climb stairs or ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites.
• Operate and maintain cryogenic and gaseous storage systems safely.
• Supervise crane contractors and serve as Lift Supervisor for lifts up to 600 tons.
• Read engineering drawings, piping diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Ensure safety standards and proper documentation for projects.
• Coordinate equipment startup, materials, and contractor oversight.
• Provide ongoing maintenance support and customer interface.
• Travel up to 75% in the southern United States.
