Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Construction Technician to join our Customer Engineering team. This residence-based role requires 75% travel throughout the southern United States, with the ideal candidate based in North Carolina or Northern South Carolina.

You will install and service cryogenic and gaseous product storage systems, read technical drawings, and ensure safety and quality in all field activities. Strong project coordination and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Trade/technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
• Military service considered in lieu of trade/technical degree
• Ability to pass a service/pickup truck road test and DOT physical
• 75% travel requirement
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Class A CDL preferred but not required
• Safety-focused
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders

Responsibilities

• Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping
• Maintain extremely high safety standards at customer sites and while driving company vehicle
• Rigging and lifting procedures; supervise crane contractors as Lift Supervisor for lifts up to 600 Tons
• Read engineering drawings, flow sheets, piping layouts, and electrical schematics
• Cost reporting for materials and labor; manage project readiness and startup procedures
• Interface with customers and coordinate equipment installation and commissioning
• Provide ongoing maintenance support and field service as needed
