Job summary

Collaborative Support Programs of NJ is seeking a full‑time Bachelor Level Crisis Counselor for the Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams serving Ocean and Monmouth counties. You will respond to 988 calls, provide immediate crisis support, and help stabilize individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities include thorough documentation, care‑plan development, and linking clients to ongoing community mental health resources, with emphasis on trauma‑informed approaches and safety planning.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in a crisis setting.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate billable progress notes.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and people skills.
• High level of patience and emotional resilience.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure when dealing with challenging situations.
• Strong critical thinking and time management in fast‑paced environments.
• Empathy, professionalism, and trauma‑informed approaches in engagements with individuals with mental health/substance use issues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls dispatched through the 988 crisis center and provide immediate support and interventions to stabilize situations.
• Document services based on billing and regulatory standards and reflect all demographic data.
• Develop individual care plans for each crisis and provide linkage to ongoing community mental health services with follow‑up contacts.
• Collaborate with individuals to identify strengths, goals, and areas for skill‑building and empowerment.
• Work with community referral sources and stabilization networks regarding case management and linkages to aftercare services.
