Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Foreperson to oversee daily field operations, coordinate crew tasks, and enforce safety protocols on job sites. You will train and mentor crew members, communicate with property owners, manage equipment and records, and report progress and incidents to the General Foreperson.

This full-time, on-site role requires a CDL, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to travel for storm work.

Qualifications

• Must understand drawings and symbols representing lines and equipment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Able to adapt to field requirements and work with minimal supervision.
• Must hold a valid CDL to operate company vehicles.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Employee weight should not exceed about 300 pounds.
• No fear of heights.
• Willingness to travel for storm work.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after orders from a supervisor.
• Conducts field training and retraining for crew on new or revised tasks.
• Enforces safe work practices per policy and OSHA standards; conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power interruptions, work scope, and property damage with owners; refers complex cases upward.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform required work.
• Promotes good customer relations through effective completion of work and crew conduct.
• Investigates incidents and minor damage claims when delegated.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and reports on crew performance and costs.
• Controls crew costs and efficient use of resources and equipment.
• Furnishes reports on orders completed, crew time, and equipment status to management.
• Coordinates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, and safety markers to protect workers and the public.
• Inspects or arranges repairs for tools, trucks, and equipment.
