Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to repair and maintain rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment and forklifts. The role requires travel and on-call availability for crane repairs at customer sites.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in mechanical diagnosing and maintenance, with strong skills in electrical, hydraulics, drives, engines, and computer-controlled systems. A clean driving record and tool inventory are necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane construction equipment; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Perform annual certifications and inspections.
• Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Computer literate with the ability to process information.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various equipment lines, including Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, and Liebherr cranes.
• A history of safe work habits.
• Hard worker with a great attitude.
• Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service trucks.
• Have a clean driving record and can drive a company service truck. Must keep trucks clean and maintained.
• A high school diploma is required, and higher education, including vocational training, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining crane equipment and forklifts with a primary focus on service and repair.
• Strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobile crane equipment.
• On-call nights and weekends for crane repairs at customer sites.
• Travel on short notice and overnight stays.
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and other personnel.
• Knowledge/experience in assembling/disassembling various crawler cranes is a plus.
• Able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
