Job summary

IREN seeks a Construction Support - Controls / Automation to assist the Controls / Automation team with field installation, testing, and commissioning of BMS, PLCs, DDC, and related instruments at a Construction site in Childress, TX. The role requires observing, reporting, and coordinating with multiple trades in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in building automation or electrical/mechanical controls, familiar with NEC/ASHRAE standards, and OSHA 30 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate/Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in building automation, electrical or mechanical controls, instrumentation, or related field.
• Basic understanding of BMS, PLCs, DDC, control panels, field instrumentation, and networked interfaces.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, sequences of operations, I/O point lists, and manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily field activities, inspections, testing, and coordination under supervision.
• Observe work activities and report progress, safety, quality, and installation issues.
• Conduct field walkdowns and provide updates on safety, quality, productivity, and material availability.
• Observe installation, wiring, termination, labeling, and mounting of control panels, PLCs, DDC controllers, sensors, meters, and network hardware.
• Review control schematics, network architectures, point lists, sequences of operations, and submittals.
