Job summary
IREN is seeking a Construction Superintendent - Controls/Automation to lead the installation, integration and commissioning of BMS, PLCs, DDC and related interfaces in data center environments in Childress, TX. This hands-on role requires strong on-site supervision, cross-trade coordination and a relentless focus on safety, quality and schedule.
The ideal candidate holds a Journeyman Electrician license, 7+ years in commercial/industrial building automation, and has led controls deployments in
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial/industrial building automation with at least 3 years in supervision.
- Experience supervising controls deployment on data centers and complex HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial controls and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs and control drawings.
- OSHA 30 certification required; NFPA70E is a plus.
- Leadership, communication, and ability to manage multiple contractors in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and supervise controls technicians, integration specialists, and subcontractors.
- Plan daily activities and coordinate with trades to meet milestones safely.
- Oversee installation and wiring of control panels, PLCs, and DDC devices.
- Review schematics and sequences before field work.
- Manage punch lists and turnover documentation.
- Support commissioning and IST/testing and troubleshoot integration bottlenecks.
- Enforce safety standards and lead pre-task planning.
