Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Electrical Commissioning Technician – Controls in Childress, TX to verify, test, troubleshoot, and document PLC control systems, fire alarm, SCADA, and related interfaces across an air-cooled HPC data center campus. You will report to the Electrical Construction Manager and coordinate with multiple teams onsite.

The role requires field commissioning experience, strict safety discipline, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma/associates preferred.
At least 3 years in electrical commissioning or related field.
Working knowledge of PLC/SCADA, control panels, and fire alarm interfaces.
Ability to read electrical one-lines, schematics, and sequences of operation.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily commissioning priorities with the Electrical Supervisor - Controls.
Review drawings, control narratives, IO lists, and test procedures.
Perform installation-readiness walkdowns of panels, cabling, and devices.
Execute continuity checks, loop checks, and device addressing.
Support PLC/SCADA IO verification and data exchange with systems.
Troubleshoot discrepancies; coordinate corrective action with parties.
Document deficiencies, close punch-lists, and witness retesting.
