Job summary

The State of Indiana, via the Indot Fort Wayne District, is seeking a skilled Construction Supervisor to oversee field operations and ensure safety, compliance, and timely project delivery. You will supervise construction technicians and coordinate testing, documentation, and reporting to maintain project quality.

A strong background in construction principles, plan interpretation, and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of INDOT construction principles and CTHTP preferred.
Equivalent post-secondary education in construction may substitute CTHTP.
Demonstrated supervisory experience is highly preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and CDL or obtain one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Ensures INDOT and contractor employees are safely performing work.
Supervises assigned INDOT construction technicians.
Ensures projects follow plans, specs, and contract requirements on time and budget.
Performs sampling and testing of construction materials or coordinates work of technicians.
Provides clarifications to contractors and recommends revisions to meet scope.
Reviews drawings from contractors, suppliers, and fabricators.
Prepares inspection and progress reports and other construction records.
Reviews and approves daily field reports by technicians.
Prepares project-specific responses to injuries for the District Communications Director.
Meets with property and business owners to resolve access, drainage, and other issues.
