Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intermediate Construction Professional to perform field engineering, site administration, estimating, quality control and safety support on industrial projects. This role operates primarily in the field at client project sites, with work sometimes in office settings depending on project needs.

The position requires a high school diploma with 9 years of experience, or an associate/bachelor's in construction management or engineering with fewer years, and travel is 100%

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate with the site construction lead on overall field operations, including scheduling, daily reports, quality control reports, and communication with subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to drawings.
• Ensure work adheres to project schedule and escalate delays to Project Construction Manager.
• Prepare daily reports and quality inspection reports for review with site construction lead or Project Construction Manager.
• Take progress photographs and label each photograph for records.
• Assist with monthly progress reports and ensure contractors use latest design drawing revisions.
• Provide support to Project Construction Manager and possibly supervise key trades/subcontractors.
• Prepare contract extras and progress payments with client approval and project manager.
• Maintain clear, concise correspondence with project management and clients.
• Maintain on-site records per CDM Smith document control requirements.
