Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intermediate Construction Professional to perform field engineering, site administration, design and construction support at client project sites. Work is driven in the field with occasional office duties, under general supervision.

The role emphasizes scheduling, quality control, safety adherence, reporting, and coordination with subcontractors to ensure the project meets drawings, specifications, and timelines. 100% field-based travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with nine years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three years of relevant experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate with the field construction lead on overall field operations, including scheduling, daily and quality control reports, conformance to drawings and specs, and communication with subcontractors as needed.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction work to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to drawings and specifications.
• Ensure adherence to the project schedule; escalate delays to the Project Construction Manager.
• Prepare Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports for review and record keeping.
• Take progress photographs of construction events and label them appropriately.
• Assist with Monthly Progress Reports.
• Ensure contractors use the latest design drawing revision for construction.
• May provide assistance to the Project Construction Manager.
• May supervise key trades or subcontractors in support of the project.
• Prepare contract extras and progress payments for client approval in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Maintain clear and professional project correspondence and on-site records per document control requirements.
• Understand and follow the Quality Policy and related work instructions.
• Pay range minimum: $68,370; maximum: $112,840.
