Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control professional who will provide account knowledge on hazards, controls, and management. You will evaluate inherent risk factors and differentiate accounts within large, complex, multi-location businesses.

This role reports to the Risk Control Field Director or Managing Risk Control Consultant. Expect 20–50% onsite client visits, with travel possibly including overnight trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, or related technical fields.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
• Technical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with customers, including 20%–50% onsite travel.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers.
• Complete risk assessments for moderate to high complexity accounts with significant exposures.
• Write technically detailed risk assessment reports and communicate recommendations.
• Identify customer needs and provide Risk Control products and services to reduce losses.
• Stay current with technical subjects, regulations and emerging issues.
• Create a valued customer experience through assessments and service encounters.
