Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Risk Control consultant to provide expert assessment of hazards and controls for large, complex accounts. You will collaborate with Underwriting, Claim, and Brokers to deliver risk insights and recommendations.

Expect substantial onsite work and specialized expertise in construction, fleet, and industrial hygiene. The role requires seven years in safety or risk control, a valid driver's license, and state-specific certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in EH&S, engineering, construction management or related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
• Recognized certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending 20%–50% onsite with customers.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Write technically detailed risk assessment reports for complex construction accounts.
• Identify uncontrolled exposures and advise on risk mitigation actions.
• Stay current with technical subjects and regulatory changes affecting risk control.
