Description

Ledcor is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day field operations to ensure that large-scale fiber optic projects are completed on time and within budget. Fully competent in construction practices, you will develop and implement project plans and schedules, ensure safety and quality control, and delegate work to field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.

This role operates independently and serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues. It is guided by department policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes, maintaining high-quality standards.
2. Participate in developing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and manage PQP conformance on site.
3. Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed corporate safety manuals and regulatory requirements; oversee safety meetings as needed.
4. Monitor construction schedules on large projects to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
5. Identify and analyze scheduling issues or delays; support developing solutions.
6. Estimate activity durations and materials for large, multi-discipline estimates, including design-build projects.
7. Assess impacts of change requests within scope of responsibility.
8. Guide and direct field staff; coordinate resources, adapt plans, and prioritize to meet operational goals.
9. Manage subcontractors regarding costs, safety, schedule, and quality expectations.
10. Oversee preparation of purchase requisitions and review of invoices from sub-trades and suppliers.

Qualifications:

1. Five to eight years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
2. Two-year college, trade, or technical diploma preferred.
3. Strong understanding of current construction practices, documents, costs, and budgets.
4. Ability to plan and manage project schedules, identify constructability issues, and support solutions within scope.
5. Effective communication skills for leading diverse teams and interpreting stakeholder needs.

Work Conditions:

• This is a site-based position.
• Up to 40% travel within Pennsylvania and to various Ledcor offices.
