Description

Ledcor is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager responsible for overseeing daily field operations to ensure the timely and budget-compliant completion of large-scale fiber optic projects. The ideal candidate will be fully competent in construction practices, develop and implement project plans and schedules, uphold safety and quality standards, and delegate tasks to field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.

This role operates independently and serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues. It is guided by department policies, resource needs, budgets, and business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure projects are constructed according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and building codes, maintaining high-quality standards.
  2. Participate in developing and managing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) on site.
  3. Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed safety manual and regulatory standards; oversee safety meetings as required.
  4. Monitor construction schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met.
  5. Identify and analyze scheduling issues/delays and support solutions.
  6. Estimate activity durations and materials for large, multi-discipline estimates, including design-build projects.
  7. Assess impacts of change requests within scope.
  8. Guide and coordinate field staff and resources, adjusting plans to meet operational goals.
  9. Manage subcontractors concerning costs, safety, schedule, and quality.
  10. Oversee preparation of purchase requisitions and review of invoices from subtrades and suppliers.
Qualifications:
  1. Five to eight years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
  2. Two-year college, trade, or technical diploma preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of current construction practices, documents, costs, and budgets.
  4. Ability to plan and manage project schedules, identify constructability issues, and develop solutions.
  5. Excellent communication skills for leading diverse teams and interpreting stakeholder needs.
Work Conditions:
  1. This is a site-based role.
  2. Up to 40% travel across Pennsylvania and to various Ledcor offices.
